"Another thing I loved about the book was its main character. Convinced that she's indebted to everyone who died after the Branding, Tessa struggles with survivor's guilt and depression, which significantly impact her evolution throughout the story. Framed within a utilitarian society in which lives are valued by the age at which they've been Branded to end, and by the success they're projected to have, her battle with mental illness was a really well-written one I enjoyed immensely. Certain thoughts Tessa had hit very close to home, and overall, I found that Bluestone has done an amazing job of depicting what living with mental health issues feels like. But that's not all there is to Tessa; she's also brave, resourceful, and selfless, even if she can't see it just yet, and I'm just so invested in her journey! I can't wait to see what Book 2 has in store for her. Same goes for another character, Hunter, who was simply AMAZING and an absolute, immediate crush. He and Tessa are simply incredible, and ahhh I can't get enough of them! I need a thousand books with Hunter and Tessa!"

I give this book a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! I will be reading this book again and I CANNOT wait to see what happens next in this trilogy! I seriously didn't want this book to end and was a puddle when it did!

This book is wonderfully crafted when it comes to developing the characters. While Hunter was my personal favourite, Tessa is built with a mix of character resilience and character flaws, the two perfect ingredients in a character. The way that Tessa and Hunter's relationship evolved from being strangers to being best friends, was truly an amazing journey. I also liked the way the Masters were portrayed and how they were shown as a force against them but not one they could easily overcome. The ending chapters were very emotional, they twisted my heart and shattered it. I cannot wait for the second book to come out!

The day we die is an amazing book packed full of adventure, cliffhangers and many twists and turns. This story has an amazing friendship between two characters and made my heart full every time they were together. I honestly couldn't put it down. I would read this book for hours on end and never get tired of it. This book is amazing and I would totally read it again. I would love to see this as a movie one day and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Over all, I think the day we die is an amazing attention catching book that hopefully one day will be known all over the world!
